How it works

From the beep
to the last split.

  1. 01 · Start

    Stand by. Beep. Go.

Choose an instant, fixed or random start delay. The clock starts when the beep is heard, not when the phone asks for it: the app measures the beep through the microphone, so speaker lag never ends up in your time.

  2. 02 · Detection

    Hears every shot.

Shots are picked up from the raw microphone signal with the phone's voice processing switched off. A notch at the beep's pitch keeps the beep out, an echo filter ignores reflections off walls and baffles, and a shot fired during the beep still counts.

  3. 03 · Results

Every split, the second you stop.

Total time, first shot and last split are on screen the moment you press STOP. The review lists every shot with its split, adds fastest, slowest and average, and takes a label, notes and a penalty.

  4. 04 · Drills

    Standard, Par or Stage.

Run an open string, beat a par time with repeat cycles and a rest between them, or time a whole stage of up to 200 seconds. Save the drills you run often and load any of them with one tap.

  5. 05 · History

    Every string, kept.

Each run is saved on your phone together with the drill it was shot with. Keep up to 5,000 strings, look back any time and export one string or your whole history as CSV.

Details

Made for the range.

The small things that make a phone a timer you can trust on the line.

Auto-configure

Fire a few shots with your usual gun and stance. The app suggests a sensitivity and frequency band tuned to what it heard on that range.

Flash and buzz on the beep

Each beep comes with a screen flash and a haptic, timed to land with the sound. With reduced motion on, a gentle edge ring replaces the flash.

Keeps running in the background

Switch apps or lock the screen mid-string. Detection and par beeps carry on.

Honest times on any speaker

Beeping through a Bluetooth speaker the mic can't hear? Set a latency offset and the clock still starts on the sound.

Speaks your language

English, Deutsch, Español, Français and Русский.

Monochrome, your way

Follow the system, or pick light, dark or high contrast. Every theme keeps the app's black-and-white look.

Never miss a beep

If the media volume is muted while a string runs, a one-line notice tells you. On Android, one tap opens the volume panel.

Privacy

Your strings stay
on your phone.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for. Open the app and shoot.

No ads, no tracking

No analytics, advertising or tracking code. The app sends nothing off your phone.

Nothing recorded

The mic signal is analysed in memory while the app listens. Audio is never saved or sent.

Every line of the app is on GitHub, so you can check all of this for yourself.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Something else on your mind? Open an issue on GitHub.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. The app is open source under GPLv3.

Will it replace a real shot timer?

Not completely. The app is limited by your phone's hardware, so it can't reach the level of a decent dedicated timer. It's a solid alternative if you don't want to spend $100 or more on a timer, or if you left yours at home.

Does it work for live fire?

Yes. Fire a few shots with Auto-configure and the app suggests a sensitivity and frequency band for that gun and range. On a busy line, a shot from the next bay can register if it is as loud as yours; you can delete it in the review.

Can I use it for dry fire?

Yes. Par mode gives you a start beep and a par beep to beat, with repeat cycles and a rest between them. A dry-fire click is quiet, so either raise the sensitivity until it registers or simply shoot against the par time.

Will a Bluetooth speaker throw off my times?

No. The clock starts when the mic hears the beep, so the speaker's lag is measured, not guessed. For sound the mic can't hear, such as earbuds, set a manual latency offset in Settings.

Is there an iPhone version?

It's coming to the App Store soon. On Android it's available now on Google Play, and you can join the beta to get new builds first.

Does the app record me?

No. While the app listens (during a string, the mic test or auto-configure), the mic signal is analysed in memory and is never saved or sent. Your strings and settings are stored only on your phone. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Export a single string or your whole history as CSV through the share sheet and open it in any spreadsheet.
